Our client has a requirement for a Project Manager with a strong work ethic to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team - striving to streamline R&D activities, organise multiple concurrent streams of technical development and drive delivery of key work against funding and business goals. Reporting to the COO, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working with senior management and other stakeholders
This role requires someone with a proactive approach to managing a complex programme of work, under minimal direction and on their own initiative. You will need to think differently, be unafraid to make mistakes and get hands on to take full ownership of project management, funding management, and delivery. We are looking for a person comfortable working with uncertainty, someone who enjoys solving problems collaboratively, and someone who can help us bring a game-changing platform technology to market
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or medical related field; or equivalent level qualification
• A sound understanding of fundamental project management techniques with at least 3 years project management in a medical device/scientific environment.
• Strong track record of project delivery and managing projects effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in life sciences, engineering, scientific project management (or equivalent technical field)
• Direct experience managing, and reporting on, grant-aided projects or collaborative research projects.
• Experience implementing structure and driving accountability in project management and technical development activities.
• Experience in project financial and resource management
• Strong report writing skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and Wrike (or similar)
• A creative problem-solving mindset, good analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills You might also have:
• Direct experience of medical project management across concept, development, and manufacture
• A qualification in project management (PMP or PRINCE2)
• Experience managing, and reporting on, projects funded by the European Union and/or the Government of Ireland Disruptive Technology Innovation Fund would be beneficial but not mandatory.
• Cross functional project management of multiple concurrent technical development activities
• Orchestrate distributed planning activities within the organisation, establishing regular reviews and structure, with the support of the senior leadership team.
• Project financial management & projection, working in conjunction with the senior leadership team and finance team.
• Resource management across multiple work streams, projects, and external partners, along with resource reporting where required.
• Maintenance of the project level risk register and decision log.
• Coordinating joint activities with consortium partners as part of collaborative research projects.
• Management of plans, risk, and project costs in a structured and transparent manner.
• Challenging and developing working practices to continuously improve design & development effectiveness, establishing structure, reviews and reporting as appropriate.
• Communicating and influencing across all levels, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Working with the senior leadership team to identify, secure and manage additional grant funding opportunities to support development and innovation activities
