Overview

Our client is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to jping there R&D division and be part of a multi-disciplinary project team.  This is an exciting role within a high growth industry where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills by joining a dynamic design team developing High-Tech products for the agricultural sector. The position requires a strong candidate who can demonstrate initiative, innovation, and drive to succeed within a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in North Co Galway

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical
  • 3+ years of relevant industrial experience within a design environment
  • Excellent 3D CAD Skills with CREO, Solidworks or similar
  • Good understanding of design for manufacture is essential
  • Experience in DFMEA's and risk management techniques a key advantage
  • Strong teamwork skills with a results-oriented commitment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Root cause analysis
  • Project management experience desirable
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment advantageous
  • Full Driving Licence

Responsibilities

  • Work on new product development within the Evolution R&D team
  • Build prototypes, conduct laboratory and field testing
  • Create CAD models and detailed drawings for manufacture
  • Prepare detailed reports on results of testing
  • Work closely with electronics / software disciplines on control system integration
  • Develop concepts through all stages of the mechanical design process
  • Conduct and participate in technical design reviews
  • Manage development schedules to project timelines
  • Document designs and specifications based on the ISO 9001 QMS
  • Any other duties as specified by Engineering Team Lead
