    Loans Officer


    PlaceMe Recruitment have an immediate need for Banking Loans Officer for a Galway based client. Report to the Senior Business & Lending Manager, the Loans Officer is responsible for interviewing members and adjudicating on their loan applications in a timely manner in line with Credit policy and best practice.


    Role expectations:


    The role requires the individual to be highly knowledgeable of all facets of consumer lending, and to have a depth and breadth of experience in decision-making. The role requires an energetic, self-motivated, confident individual, who is a strong team player and can operate under resource constraints, and bring innovation and a positive attitude to ever-developing challenges


    Responsibilities/Key Duties

    • Welcome loan enquiries in person, online and on the phone
    • Assess & document loan requests and ability to repay all debt
    • Manage the service levels to meet agreed standards of excellence
    • Actively update the CRM system and follow up in a timely manner
    • Comply with directives and policies as prescribed
    • Maintain the dignity of the member at all times
    • Contribute to the strategic objectives and organizational goals



    • QFA qualification are an distinct advantage 


    Additional Duties:

    • Support other lending officers in meeting business demands
    • Deal promptly with actions/requests outlined by Central Bank, External & Internal Auditors, Risk and Compliance officers, and Management
    • Keep abreast of changing Legislation and Regulation and implement those changes as required
    • Attend regular Lending meetings and contribute suggestions on innovation and improvements
    • Encourage all other staff, directors and volunteers to recognise business opportunities and direct business
    • Support branch offices and branch staff in all lending related activities
    • Maintain accurate member details and file notes on the IT system
    • Effectively manage loan applications from initial contact through to drawdown
    • Apply the highest standards to Data Protection and be fully familiar with the Data Protection Act and how it applies to your role.
    • Contribute to the successful management and follow up of pipeline business


    Experience needed

    • Previous lending experience, whilst advantageous, is not necessary as full training will be given
    • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with focus on member service, teamwork, flexibility
